György Darvas: Symmetry Studies in the Arts and Sciences in Hungary

Hungarian physicist and philosopher György Darvas will speak about Hungarian artists and scientists who confront “symmetry” in their works. In doing so, he explores especially those artworks on display in the exhibition “Symmetrical Art from Hungary.” He additionally introduces “SYMMETRION,” an institution that is devoted to research on symmetry in art, science, philosophy, and physics. Prof. Dr. György Darvas is a professor at Eötvös Loránd University Budapest (Institute for History and Philosophy of the Sciences) and is one of the founders as well as the director of “SYMMETRION,” Budapest.
