The ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics presents the festival "Quantum Leaps" for the seventh successive occasion. On the occasion of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s 80th birthday the composer’s works constitute the focal point of the festival with a portrait concert. Here, the ZKM institute and the IEMA compliment each other perfectly, with scholarship programs for composers, instrumentalists and sound engineers. At the same time, instrumental conditions will be brought into dialogue with the electronic mediums. This fruitful cooperation will be extended by the music theater projection in collaboration with the Institute for Applied Theater Studies at the Justus Liebig University Gießen, the class of Heiner Goebbels.
