Biography

Alina Bukina (*1992, Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine) is a visual artist, graphic designer, and visual communication researcher. She studied graphic design at the Lviv National Academy of the Arts and received her master’s degree in 2015. Alina uses one line as the main medium in her artworks and explores its possibilities from small to huge formats. With the figurations originating from one line, she transfers human motions and emotions onto various surfaces. She works with international and Ukrainian cultural institutions, NGOs, cultural and educational events as an artist, project manager, designer, and researcher. In 2022, Alina was artist-in-residence at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe.
