Mara-Johanna Kölmel

Mara-Johann Kölmel is a curator and has been Head of the Art Department at the Zeppelin Museum since January 2024. She has worked internationally in various curatorial positions, including for the Biennale of Sydney, the Arko Art Centre Seoul, the Kunsthalle Hamburg and the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Mara holds a Master's degree in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art and a PhD in »Sculpture in the Augmented Sphere« from Leuphana University Lüneburg. Her research explores the fundamental expansion of sculpture through digital technologies and analyses how speculative, feminist and decolonial sculptural concepts take on new meaning in the context of the digital.
