Open Hertzlab: Kymatik – Water in Motion

Vibrations are omnipresent — they permeate our communication, determine natural processes, and shape the world around us. In this interactive demonstration, we will explore the visual dimension of sound through cymatics. Water set in motion by frequency modulation reveals fascinating patterns and structures.

Participants will be invited to vibrate water-filled vessels and experiment with different frequencies. The focus is on the aesthetic experience as well as the physical principles of vibrations and resonances. Using our smartphones or laptops, we will create resonances and explore how the scientific principles of vibration can harmonize with personal aesthetics.

Whether as playful immersion or artistic exploration, the interactive demo opens a sensory space to explore the interactions of sound, movement, and perception.
