Betty Rieckmann

Born in the US, Betty Rieckmann (*1986) is a media artist who completed her first degree at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe in 2011. Subsequently, she studied "Lighting Design" at the HAWK | University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hildesheim. Based on her occupation with painting and sculpture, the artist dedicates her works primarily to the theme of light. Using LED technology and controlled software, Rieckmann creates elaborate light installations in which light plays of reflections and colors fill entire rooms. Her works have been exhibited many times, including in the exhibition Open Codes at ZKM | Karlsruhe in 2017. Betty Rieckmann lives and works in Karlsruhe.
