Opening Performance Orchestra
Biography
»Opening Performance Orchestra« is a seven-piece ensemble that covers various genres from the electronic impulses of the musical avant-garde of the 20th century to contemporary Japanese noise music. They play both repertoire works and original compositions based on the concept of so-called fraction music. Here the original sound is digitally destroyed, broken and uncompromisingly all its original attributes are eliminated in the sense of the credo »no melodies – no rhythms – no harmonies«. Fraction Music ties in with the ideas and actions of the futurists of the early 20th century and is further developed by the »Opening Performance Orchestra« with the help of modern technologies. The construction and use of sound-producing Intonarumori is a way to reencounter the manners of the musical avant-garde and return to the historical roots of noise music.
