Ruth Velten

Ruth Velten made a name for herself internationally as an interpreter of modern compositions with innovative formats. Her work is characterized by artistic flexibility and the search for the new. In her own work and choice of repertoire, she has a special emphasis on the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. An avid chamber musician, Velten has been successful as a winner of first prizes at national and international competitions, including the German Music Competition and the International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Krakow. Since then, she has played as a soloist with orchestras such as the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Sinfonieorchester Aachen and the Landessinfonieorchester Schleswig-Holstein.
In her work, which is stylistically rich in variety, Ruth Velten realizes cross-genre studio and concert projects with artists from the fields of classical music, jazz and techno. In 2017, she received the German Record Critics' Award for the album »LUXUS« by Ensemble LUX:NM.
