As a band, the »trio de lucs« has developed a sound that stands out from the crowd. Lyrical, and at the same full of groove. The combination of delicate piano playing, a foundation of harmonious bass, and rhythmically nuanced percussion is distinctively supplemented with sounds that are atypical of jazz, such as beatbox and part singing. The »trio de lucs« are Lukas Jank, Lukas Hatzis and Lukas Derungs. The music of this Mannheim group mixes melancholy melodies and deep grooves with colors that bring light into the darkness. Live, the trio wins over audiences with the joy they take in playing and their humorous manner – you can see that the Lucs have known each other for some time.
