Trossingen State University of Music, Music Design

The Music Design program offers a wide-ranging curriculum with various areas of specialization for students. The use of technology in music is central to this program, whether for topics in AI, the creative industry, pop, experimental algorithmic music with or without instruments, spatial sound, interactive audiovisual sound installations, or film music. To this end, two sound domes (20 and 32 channels), a Dolby Atmos and a surround mixing room, as well as an equipment pool with a wide range of equipment are available. Personal guidance and collaboration among students are particularly important in the program. In addition to the course content, the program includes projects and presentations on (inter)national platforms such as the Donaueschinger Musiktage, collaborations with the universities of Koblenz and Furtwangen, and with institutions such as the ZKM | Karlsruhe or the Futurium in Berlin, as well as with industry partners.
