Biography
Matthias Oborski has been the exhibition director of the Computerspielemuseum in Berlin since 2020. He has been associated with the museum since 2010, first as a freelancer and later as technical director. In addition to overseeing the museum’s own exhibitions, he has helped institutions such as the Gay Museum Berlin, the Tallinn Art Museum, the Deutsches Museum in Bonn, the Allied Museum Berlin, the Swedish Embassy, and the Berlin-Poznań-Warsaw Culture Train to showcase video games.
Before embarking on his unexpected career in the museum world, Matthias Oborski spent a long time sitting in front of home computers before studying English, communication studies, and musicology in Bonn. He then worked as a freelance journalist for publications including »Die Zeit«.
His “must-play” list currently includes about 250 games.
