Robert-Schumann-Hochschule (RSH) Düsseldorf, Institute for Music and Media (IMM)
Biography
The Institute of Music and Media (IMM) is a part of the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf (RSH). It offers an unparalleled environment to combine artistic, scientific, and technical interests on a high level. This transdisciplinary orientation contributes to areas such as artistically and philosophically informed engineering, free research independent of a distinction between science and art, and new forms of transmedial composition. The institute plays a leading role in the development of SuperCollider and non-standard approaches to music informatics. Our programme presents works by students who focus on conceptual and electronic approaches. The short pieces originate in the composition class of Oliver Schneller as well in the master programme Klang und Realität, in the fields of Epistemic Media (led by Julian Rohrhuber) and Transmedia Forms (led by Heike Sperling).
