Virtual tour of Klaus Staeck's studio
The graphic designer, artist and publisher Klaus Staeck (b. 1938) is known for his political and provocative posters. As the long-standing president of the Berlin Academy of Arts, he has had a lasting impact on the art and cultural landscape in Germany. Now there is a virtual tour of the studio of Klaus Staeck, offering those interested the unique opportunity to experience his working world digitally.
As part of a collaboration between the ZKM | Karlsruhe and the Heidelberg Cultural Office, Klaus Staeck's studio in Heidelberg's old town was scanned in high resolution in 3D. Between May and September 2020, over 5,000 photographs of the studio were taken and then processed into a virtually walk-in space using state-of-the-art 3D technologies.
Thanks to this technology, it is now possible to explore Klaus Staeck's studio in all its facets: artworks, book titles, handwritten notes and many other details can be viewed in the highest resolution.
