"For centuries the body was a theatre of anatomy, virology, immunology, molecular medicine and especially genetic engineering - the human body was transformed into a thermodynamic factory. The science of man became a wall whose building blocks have been transformed and renewed by medical progress. What has been shaken in this transformation of the foundations of the human image is the perception of a specific world view, namely humanism. On the basis of new medical research results, the discussion should open up new perspectives for the science of mankind."
