ZKM_Gameplay under construction

From 22.08.–28.09.2018 we will redesign the exhibition »ZKM_Gameplay« for you. On Saturday, September 29, 2018, »zkm_gameplay. the next level«, the new concept of the gaming platform, will open at ZKM. 

The new edition not only builds on the experiences of its predecessor exhibition, »ZKM_Gameplay«, but also on the exhibition »Games & Politics«, which has been touring all continents since 2017 in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut.

In five areas, the exhibition presents the origins and developments of the medium of computer games, focuses on its unique narrative possibilities, allows visitors to experience extraordinary and audiovisual representations of games and shows how computer games can convey political processes and their backgrounds in a playful way. It also provides information on current debates and discourses in game studies and game culture. 

In a playful interior design, the exhibition is not only a platform for interactive works but also invites all interested parties and computer game developers to an informative, critical and creative exchange about the interactive and multimedia medium. 

On Sunday, September 30, an action day with an extensive program will take place at the ZKM with free admission. We cordially invite all enthusiastic gamers, big and small, but also all curious visitors who have little experience with computer games so far.
