Nika Schmitt
Biography
Nika Schmitt (*1992, LU) lives and works between Luxembourg and the Netherlands. She studied at the ArtScience Interfaculty in The Hague, NL, and at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Maastricht, NL. Through her work with site-specific sound installations and kinetic sculptures, she explores feedback loops and self-modifying systems, reflecting on the tension between control, and collapse as well as cultural and symbolic dimensions of energy. She investigates electrical energy as a way to understand the interconnection between time, matter, and cyclical phenomena.
