Biography
Pipilotti Rist (*1962, Grabs, CH) lives and works in Zurich. The Swiss video artist studied commercial art, illustration, and photography at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, AT, and graduated in audiovisual communication at the School of Design in Basel, CH. In her video installations, experimental films, and environments, Rist explores the body image of a wide variety of people, the symbiosis of nature and the digital realm, gender stereotypes, and utopian communal spaces, with a delight in visual, auditory, and tactile sensuality.
