Salvador Dalí

Biography

Salvador Dalí (1904, Figueres, ES – 1989, Figueres, ES) lived and worked in Spain, France and the United States. He studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid from 1922 to 1926 and joined the Surrealist movement in the late 1920s, of which he is considered one of the leading figures. In visual worlds shaped by dream logic and psychoanalytic concepts, Dalí explored the relationship between the conscious and the unconscious, between reality and fantasy. In addition to painting, he also worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, sculptor, set designer and writer.
