Biografie
Guido Strack studied law and political science in Trier, Germany. At first he worked as a lawyer for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs in Bonn. From 1995 to 2005 he was an officer in the European Commission in Luxemburg. There, he became a whistle-blower and informed the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) about irregularities in his department. This resulted in a yearslong court battle with the European Commission, which is documented on http://whistleblower-net.de.strack. After quitting active service, Guido Strack enrolled in postgraduate studies at the University of Cologne where he earned an MA in economic law, and completed a training course at the Friedensbildungswerk Cologne (state-approved adult education institute founded by members of the peace movement) to become a mediator. As chairperson of Whistleblower-Netzwerk e.V. (a registered association), Strack campaigns for effective protection of whistle-blowers, and as an expert has participated in hearings on the subject of whistle-blowing at the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the German Bundestag, and the Landtag of North Rhine–Westphalia.
