Jiajun Yang
Biografie
Dr. Jiajun Yang started his undergraduate study in Music Technology & Production. During the study, he discovered a great interest in interactive sound design, which then led him to pursue a PhD of Music Technology at University of York with the topic of interactive sonification to improve physical exercise quality and motivation. Since 2015, Yang take on the post-doc position at the Ambient Intelligence lab of Citec, Bielefeld University. Between April 2016 to June 2016, Yang was a visiting researcher at the Emergent Robotics Laboratory of Osaka University working on the development of an interactive sound interface for externalizing emotions aiming to help autistic children expressing emotions. His research areas focus on two aspects: 1. Developing interactive sonification in Exploratory Data Analysis through the use of Model-Based Sonification; 2. Developing interactive sound/soundscape for multiple domains such as smart environment and communicative tool. His other research interest includes: interactive sonification, ambient display, interactive soundscape, interactive ambisonics.
