Location
Foyer of the Kinemathek Karlsruhe e. V., Kaiserpassage 6, Karlsruhe (currently closed due to Covid-19)

Duration
September 11, 2020 to March 31, 2021

In the entrance hall of the Kinemathek Karlsruhe, where movie poster artists used to hang their large-format paintings advertising the film highlights of the moment, the »PhonoLuxMaschine« has been installed. Controlled by a computer with touchscreen, two projectors are coordinated with each other through a mapping program. In this way, various light effects can be created, which also shine through the glass facade of the Kinemathek onto the forecourt, the Passagehof. As a presentation platform for media art projects, the »PhonoLuxMaschine« can be used in a variety of ways. In addition to interactive sound and video installations, it will be used in the future to broadcast lectures, films, and concerts live via this machine.

»PhonoLuxMaschine« was supported by the »UNESCO City of Media Arts« Karlsruhe 2020 project support program for media art.
