Opening: VRlab and „Spectral Haven“ Release

We cordially invite you to join us in opening the Hertzlab Space. For the first time, artistic research and development at ZKM has a physical place to tinker, hack, exchange ideas, try things out, and do research - for artists, visitors, and nerds.

The opening program is varied. After a short welcome by our managing director, Dr. Helga Huskamp, the new director of the Hertzlab, Tina Lorenz, will introduce their team and their program. The ZKM | Hertzlab team and the new curator for music and sound art will also be present. 

Release »Spectral Haven« (VR experience)
In the immediate vicinity of the new Hertzlab Space is ZKM's new VRlab, which we will inaugurate this evening with the work »Spectral Haven« by Tina Lorenz, Christian Schlaeffer, Bernd Lintermann, and Klaus Lehr. The VR installation is the final work of the »intelligent.museum« project, which was funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation as part of the Digital Fund.

Last but not least, we will present the final publication of the »intelligent.museum« project, which took place at Hertzlab from 2020 to 2024 and explored the possibilities of using AI in museums, hot off the press. The book summarises the artistic interventions and technological prototypes of the project period and also expands on them with new ideas and perspectives. 

Halloween-Party
Starting at 8 pm we will play Halloween music in the proper Halloween spirit: DJ DA:SYPODA & robotcowboy with electro and drum'n'bass. Costume optional.
