We all access the Internet every day via web browsers. The question of how browsers determine what we experience online has fascinated artists from early on. Based on two research projects on Internet art by the KIT Institute for History of Art and Architecture, the exhibition Choose Your Filter! Browser Art Since the Beginnings of the World Wide Web provides insights into 30 years of alternative browser development. In addition to introducing the content of the exhibition, we will also discuss the technical and conservation challenges posed by such an exhibition project and the fast-paced nature of the web.
