How do algorithms perceive us—and how do we feel in return? This edition of Open Hertzlab invites the public to explore the emotional and artistic entanglements of human-AI relationships through a multisensory workshop format.
Artist Cecile Waagner Falkenstrøm presents a series of interactive installations, including »The Caring Machine«, »An Algorithmic Gaze II« and »FRANK«, among others. These works examine the spectrum of humanised AI, from machine empathy to algorithmic observation, and raise questions about intimacy, care, and surveillance in digital culture.
The afternoon begins with an artist talk (3:00 pm), followed by short in-situ presentations at each installation. Throughout the event, visitors can freely explore the artworks and take part in a "drop-in" discussion circle (from 4:50 pm), offering space for open exchange with the artist, ZKM researchers, and fellow participants.
Join us at ZKM | Hertzlab for an afternoon of reflection, interaction, and conversation where the artificial meets the affective.
