6th Summit of New Media Art Archiving

In April 2026, Dubai will host ISEA2026 – the International Symposium on Electronic / Emerging Art. As part of the ISEA week (10–19 April 2026), the 6th Summit on New Media Art Archiving will take place, offering a key international forum dedicated to the future of new media art archiving.

Since 2020, the Summit on New Media Art Archiving has brought together archivists, artists, scholars, curators, and technologists from around the world to address current challenges and emerging strategies in the documentation, preservation, and dissemination of media art. In response to rapidly evolving digital and electronic art practices, the Summit focuses on innovative archival approaches, new technologies, and interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. The sixth edition will continue this dialogue for the first time in the Middle East, with a strong emphasis on international and regional exchange.

ISEA is one of the world’s leading conferences at the intersection of art, science, and technology. Coordinated by ISEA International, an international non-profit organisation founded in 1990, the symposium provides an annual platform for artistic research, critical reflection, and experimental practice in the fields of electronic and emerging arts.

The 6th Summit on New Media Art Archiving is currently inviting contributions. The Call for Papers and Participation is open to researchers, artists, archivists, and cultural institutions. Submissions are welcome in the form of papers, panels, short archive presentations, and roundtable proposals.
