Description
As microelectronic components became smaller and smaller and their properties and functions could no longer be recognised, the term 'black box' was also coined for digital processes. The processes that were predetermined by invisible software take place in it. "The Black Boxes are empty" indicates that their mysterious contents cannot be perceived with our senses. In the object, a white box drawn in perspective is slightly open, so that one can see that nothing seems to be contained in it and a hand reaches into the void. Today, one would have to replace the metaphorical concept of the black box with black surface, behind which the almost infinite digital world takes place.
