The film by the artist Kutlug Ataman, who is originally from Istanbul, portrays Berlin’s Turkish gay and transvestite scene thus creating a connection to the themes of the exhibition. The melodrama of Lola and Billi deals with homophobia, physical violence against homosexuals, as well as family relationships spanning from morality to jealousy.
