For more than 20 years the German trio has stood for Energy Jazz. On Friday, 27 October 2017, they will be presenting it at the ZKM for Jazzfestival 2017. 

Thanks to their technical and musical abilities, guitarist Stefan Ivan Schäfer, bassist Christoph Victor Kaiser and drummer Thomas Lui Ludwig have found ways and means to expand by many times the harmonic forms of expression of a normal trio. In classic lineup, the »Jazz Pistols« achieve an unprecedented variety of sound, which they also perform live entirely without loops or overdubs. Since 1995, concert tours have taken the Jazz Pistols through 33 countries, and they have played with Jeff Beck, Chaka Khan and Joss Stone among others.

Incidentally, they had their first appearance in November 1995 in Karlsruhe, at the Jazzclub’s legendary Schauburgfest. This time they are returning to Karlsruhe with a new studio album.
