Atlas, a Sound Cartography of Europe
Graphic with a forest landscape and a silhouette of a city upside down.
Concert
Fri, December 13, 2019 8 pm CET, Concert

The telematic live simultaneous performance »Atlas, a Sound Cartography of Europe« is the prelude to the festival »Sonic Experiments: Telematics«. In a collective work, the performance connects Paris, Athens and Karlsruhe, creating a subjective map.

The performances of Carmine Emanuele Cella and Minh-Tâm Nguyen in Paris, Dimitris Kamarotos in Athens and Valerio Tricoli in Karlsruhe will be filmed and broadcast live at all participating venues. At the same time, the audience will see video art from Paris, Athens and Karlsruhe by the artist Marina Gioti. The sound matter was collected in advance of the performance, the composers and the video-maker worked together to exploit these geo-localized sources and mix them to their own electronics. During the real-time performance artists interact together, are in dialogue with each other or interrupt the flows arriving from elsewhere.
