In a year of the moon, Kreidler have produced the album »SPELLS AND DAUBS«. In a year of the moon – and in a year with 13 moons. Such years are known for not being the most comfortable.

In September 2020 the band met for exploratory sessions and initial recordings in Düsseldorf, in the familiar settings ofthe Kabawil Theater. That already has a certain tradition. The impetus this time was a solitary gig in the conspicuously spacious surroundings of the (former) Philipshalle. In a year that threw everyone back on themselves.Over the winter Kreidler worked remotely, sifting through the material, arranging the pieces, adding textures andcontours. They met again in the spring of 2021 for further recordings at the Uhrwerk Orange studio in Hilden, near Düsseldorf. That, too, has a certain tradition. From fifteen pieces they filtered out ten, and thus held an album in their hands. Then – and this is new – they took it toLondon, to Peter Walsh, so that he could mix the tracks.

Kreidler is the band for electronic music in Germany after Kraftwerk. The music, in which the artists of Kreidler combine electronic sound with analog instruments, is like a technical process shaped by machine precision. In the tradition of Can or Kraftwerk, these artists shape the musical style of electronic sounds with a distinctive musical aesthetic.

Kreidler first came together as a quartet in 1994. They now perform as a trio and the band members Thomas Klein, Andreas Reihse and Alex Paulick are still in demand as live musicians and have been part of numerous film, photo and dance projects - whether at the Centre Pompidou in Paris or the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Experience the music of Kreidler, which now also provides the soundtrack for several films. Let the special, cool beauty of the electronic sounds seduce you into a great evening program.
