Yellow types: BÄMLAB
BÄM_Lab Theremin Edition
Fri, May 07, 2021 3.30 pm – 6.30 pm CEST, Workshop

From 12 years. The workshop will be held in German.
Registration possible until 02.05.21, limited number of participants!

Good news for DIY makers: as long as Corona doesn't loosen, we won't either! Now BÄM_Lab takes place digitally!

Our Theremin workshop is finally available all over Germany! We'll send you our ZKM Theremin kit, and roll up our sleeves to build it together with you.

Using soldering irons and solder, we will build small theremins from electronic components and circuit boards. The theremin is a synthesizer that notices changes in the electromagnetic field and converts them into sounds. If we move our hands through the air near the theremin's antenna, sounds will be heard as if by magic. We will conclude with a shared living room concert.

You will need: Soldering iron with pencil soldering tip, solder 0.5 mm, side cutters approx. 12 cm, cutter, possibly a »third hand«, base e.g. wooden board (30 x 30 cm), loudspeaker with 3.5 mm jack cable.
Note: Additional materials for this workshop will be sent to you by postal mail. By registering for the workshop, you agree that we may use your personal data to send you the workshop materials.
Digital requirements: Stable internet connection, video conferencing capability (camera and microphone). The workshop will take place online via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent on the day of the workshop.

You can call us Monday to Tuesday, 1 pm–6 pm as well as Wednesday to Friday, 9 am–1 pm.
