Technology continues to facilitate the opening up of new dialogues between different geographies and cultures, and dissolve boundaries between states. In this rapidly changing scenario, is it still correct to think about an all pervasive and homogenous internationalism, centred around nations’ capital cities? Should we instead rethink the way we work in terms of an emerging inter-localism, in which specific local cultures and economies across the globe exchange ideas and products between each other, bypassing the functions of traditional metropolitan centres?

Alistair Hudson (Director ZKM | Karlsruhe) discusses with Çağla Ilk and Misal Adnan Yıldız (Directors of the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden) how the cultural landscape in regions today are becoming significant fields of experimentation for art and science, generating new ways of thinking and new ways of working with other communities around the world.

Host: Elke Buhr, Monopol

An event of the Representation of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the Federal Government in cooperation with Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden.
