Biography
Apprenticed as a photographer, studied Art History, Communication Research and Literature in Munich and Bonn, awarded a doctorate for a thesis dealing with the history of photography. Freelance author, artist, curator, photographer. From 1985 to 2004 Professor of Photography and Electronic Image Media at the Design Faculty of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld, since 1995 Associated Professor at the Karlsruhe State College of Design, from 2004 to 2017 Professor of the History and Theory of Design at the Saar College of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken.
