The digital transformation has changed our lives. This has become particularly visible and tangible in the pandemic – events take place digitally, and we communicate with friends and relatives via digital channels.
We have arrived in the long–distance society. What does that do to us? Who are we excluding and what can't the digital encounter do? Above all, how do we feel when we leave our data as a shadow in digital space in order to be close to the people we cannot physically meet in pandemic times? Peter Weibel argues for the introduction of an 11th commandment: thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's data. This year's Roncalli Forum is dedicated to the value of encounter in the digital space.
The event has been held for several years on Epiphany Day by the Roncalli Forum and the ZKM | Karlsruhe and will take place in 2021 in the form of a Zoom Bar.
With Peter Weibel (CEO ZKM), Magnus Striet (Professor of Theology, University Freiburg), Tobias Licht (Roncalli-Forum), Janine Burger (ZKM) and Philipp Ziegler (ZKM).
