- Description
- Mies van der Rohe and Min stand for design principles of long validity. Min for the Egyptian cube stool, which was formative in the Middle Kingdom for almost a thousand years in many forms for the representation of people in a seated position. Mies for functional design in architecture and design, which is still being further developed after almost a hundred years. Form follows Function. In the sculpture, the formal principles of the cube stool and the Barcelona Chair interpenetrate. In both cases, it is also about de-individualised design, about geometrisation, whereby the head of the Egyptian cube stool is represented by the concrete cube sunk into the sculpture.
