Early Career Scholar Award of the European Committee for the History of Sport (CESH, 1997), since 2006 Deputy Chairwoman of the Advisory Board of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History, 2007 venia legendi Sports Science University of Karlsruhe (TH), since 2022 President of Fellows of CESH. Since 1990 teaching and research in the field of sport and society at the Universities of Göttingen, Brisbane/AUS, Mainz and Karlsruhe. At KIT, head of the Research Center for School Sports and Sports for Children and Young People (FoSS) and project coordinator »KIT Partner University of Elite Sports«.
