Daniel Fetzner
Biography
Daniel Fetzner (*1966) is Professor of Artistic Research at Offenburg University and head of the Media Ecology Laboratory there. He held visiting professorships in San Francisco (2007), Cairo (2009–11), and Bangalore (2012), as well as artist residencies at ZKM Karlsruhe (2007/2021) and the Indian Institute of Science (2014/2018). Daniel Fetzner is a founding member of the artistic research group mbody – Media, Somatic, Dance and Philosophy. With INTERCORPOREAL SPLITS (2009–2013) and DE\\GLOBALIZE (since 2015), he employs Situationist approaches as a method and tool for interdisciplinary media explorations. His artistic investigations can be understood as speculative movements of inquiry into the terrestrial in the sense of Bruno Latour, with whom he collaborated on the exhibition Critical Zones at ZKM.
