KAMUNA 2011

ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe will join visitors to the 13th KAMUNA on a journey through time. In the workshop Nachtfalter – Ein Workshop mit Bluescreeneffekt beginning at 6 p.m. in atrium 3 of the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG), time travel will be possible without a time machine, with the help of a blue box. Textbox [Das kleinste Massenmedium der Welt] is an installation and performance by Bas Böttcher. It can be seen and heard beginning at 6 p.m. in the ZKM_Foyer. Also starting at 6 p.m. visitors become artists: Using smartphones and a robot true artworks emerge.
From the past to the present: at ZKM 2.0 – Wer? Wie? Was? visitors can find out about ZKM’s new information format and try it out themselves in the ZKM_Foyer beginning at 7 p.m. With the video screening Magnetisierte Zeit: Reise durch die Videokunst von den 60ern bis heute, a special tribute will be given to the history of video art in the ZKM_Media Theater beginning at 7:30 p.m.

As special highlight, Director of the ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics (IMA), Ludger Brümmer, will lead visitors on a unique acoustic expedition with the Klangdom concert Mit Brümmer durch die Galaxis, which can be experienced in the ZKM_Cube at 8:30 p.m. And right after that, Frieder Butzmann asks for your attention, inviting you on a journey through the history of video art with Wolfsburg 1984: Remix für Tänzerin und Volkswagen in the ZKM_Media Theater at 9:30 p.m. And especially for young visitors (6–14 years old), the sound of the stars will be followed in Ein Himmel voller Sternenklänge. in the ZKM_Cube at 6:30 p.m.

As usual, the ZKM | Museum Communication will offer guided tours through all exhibitions and the long-time classic, Museumsrallye for children. Refreshments for the journey are offered by »ZetKaeM« Restaurant/Café in the ZKM_Foyer. Registration and meeting point for the guided tours is the info table in the ZKM_Foyer, all tours last approximately half an hour.
