After a short break, the familiar and cherished highlights of »ZKM_Gameplay« can be played again from September 12, 2014 at the ZKM | Museum of Contemporary Art. But also new additions from the Independent Games Festival A.MAZE can be experienced! At the end of the summer holidays we invite you and your family to our »Family_Gameplay« on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 11 am to 6 pm: The whole family can look forward to an exciting workshop, guided tours through the partial new exhibition and further highlights on the theme Games!

gameboymusicclub

The members of the »gameboymusicclub« show that you can do more with gameboys than play games. The »gameboymusicclub« − initiated by Wolfgang Kopper and Herbert Weixelbaum in 2002 − is the largest and most exciting gameboy music collective in the whole world. The members − musicians and amateurs − play on gameboys in different sizes and colors (white, red, yellot, pink, blue, black, green, grey) with the programs Nano loop, LSDJ and Korg DS-10.

D´Artangnan − gypsy jazz

The mission of D'artangnan is to bring the musical heritage of Django Reinhardt into the 21st century. Since 2008, D'Artagnan from Cologne and Berlin play Gypsy Jazz. They play standards from the 1930s as well as own compositions. With their surprising repertoire of music from computer games they close the gap between the 20th and 21st century.

Room Racers − Contest

4 players play against each other, the fastest driver wins a great prize!

Tetris High Score − Contest

Who does not remember tetris? Test your skills and try to build as much lines as possibile. The winner of the day wins a great prize!

Super Mario World − Tournament

Try to play the first level of »Super Mario World« as fast as possible – the winner becomes a great prize!

Pix and Trix − Gameplay workshop for families

Since the fist generation of »jump&run« games the computer figures and their movement possibilities have changed a lot. At this open workshop families can exchange across generations about these developments and draw up a funny short animated film.
