Futuristische Popmusik trifft Organic Electronic
Fri, November 10, 2017 11 pm CET, Concert

As part of the program of the ARD Hörspieltage 2017, on November 10, 2017 the ZKM will present the »Organic Electronic« sound of the project »Moglii x Novaa« with their »Down Under« EP.

Moglii is the 23-year-old producer, singer and jazz pianist Simon Ebener-Holscher, whose characteristic production style comes from the mix of warm beats, analogue synthesizers and soulful vocal samples. He complements his modern, electronic compositions with acoustic instruments and an organic sound design comprising of samples he created himself, and these together give birth to futuristic pop music. His music is influenced by Mura Masa, James Blake, Bon Iver and Flume.

NOVAA is a singer, songwriter and producer who, despite being just 20 years of age, is often compared to major music artists like Björk or Grimes. With her absolutely unique sound consisting of musical elements from electronic, folk and pop, NOVAA is creating a powerful, new genre – »Organic Electronic«. Driven by her crystal clear voice, she weaves a tapestry of sound that is far more complex and layered than run-of-the-mill music patterns. She bypasses the troughs of everyday life and creates a fragile framework of sound with a pulsating bass, which becomes its own musical big bang that brings a whole new universe of music into existence that needs to be discovered.

These very individual characteristics now melt together into a symbiosis in the project »Moglii x Novaa«, as well as their »Down Under« EP. The result is a futuristic pop sound that the artists themselves describe as »Organic Electronic«. The 6 songs combine the characteristics of both producers and artists: Moglii's modern production style with NOVAA's unmistakable voice and gown of sound.
