What are open data? What does free access mean? The series of discussion »What is Open...?« brings together committed initiatives from Karlsruhe for an open discussion on topics that concern us as citizens of digital worlds. Discuss with us!
On September 1, as part of the opening weekend »Open Codes. The World as a Field of Data«, the first event in the five-part series of discussion »Open Discussion« takes place. In the first round of discussions, everything revolves around the question » What is ›Open Codes‹«?
After a short impulse by Peter Weibel, artistic-scientific director of the ZKM and curator of the exhibition »Open Codes. Living in Digital Worlds« and the second phase of the exhibition »Open Codes. The world as a Field of Data«, we would like to have a comprehensive look on the extraordinary format of the exhibition with the initiatives involved and with you.
Together, we look back on the first half of this unusual educational experiment and then take a look at the second half of the project. In addition to the views of the exhibition organizers and participating initiatives, we explicitly invite the participants from the audience to share their impressions with us and to give us their feedback!
