25 years ALEPH guitar quartet! The quartet, which has long been supported by the ZKM, is celebrating its anniversary with a series of concerts in Madrid, Seoul, Riga, Lausanne, Stuttgart and at the ZKM in Karlsruhe.

On the one hand, the anniversary concerts offer the opportunity to look back and to perform important works of the repertoire again. With the awarding of new commissions, however, the view naturally also goes forward.

More than 50 works by composers from 15 countries have now been written for the ALEPH Guitar Quartet – including pieces that have meanwhile become an important part of the guitar repertoire of the 20th/21st century.

The program also includes music by Vinko Globokar and Peter Jakober. The ZKM was instrumental in the creation process of both works. Winter ADE by Fredrik Zeller will also be one of the first pieces to be composed for ALEPH.

A panel discussion with musicians and composers will round off the concert evening. The discussion will be led by Prof. Ludger Brümmer and SWR editor Bernd Künzig.
