In a world where everyone is connected to everyone else and everything is connected to everything else, »Talking Tubes« aims to raise awareness of the value and power of direct dialog.

»Talking Tubes« (2020) is an interactive as well as acoustic installation about talking and silence, made of metal, industrial waste and fire hoses, with a lighting concept of wash drums and pitchforks.

As the most important link in human relationships, dialogue remains the quickest and easiest way to get clear on a matter, despite ever-increasing digital networking. This mother of all forms of communication is to be celebrated with »Talking Tubes«.

We cordially invite you to the exhibition opening on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the ZKM Foyer!

Together with the artist Jean-Remy and the speakers of the »Talking Tubes«, actor Jan Josef Liefers and actress and singer Anna Loos, as well as the economic philosopher Anders Indset, we celebrate the opening of the exhibition indoors at the ZKM Foyer.

To participate, registration via the Luca app or a paper form is required, which you can easily do on site. Proof of testing or vaccination is not required. Regardless, please wear mouth-to-nose protection on site and keep distance from those around you. Due to the limited space available, we cannot guarantee all of our visitors that they will be able to attend and therefore recommend that you arrive early.

We have installed a free test center inside the ZKM at ZKM Vortragssaal, available from 5 pm to 8 pm CEST on July 1, 2021.
