Description
For the 40th birthday of the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg, some examples from current and former scholarship holders will be exhibited at the ZKM | Karlsruhe – over 900 young artists have been funded in the fields of visual arts, music, performing arts and literature since 1977.
The exhibition documents, on one hand, the artistic development of the scholarship holders while highlighting, on the other hand, the significance of individual funding for artists by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
The different media represented in the exhibition, such as installation, sculpture, painting, photography, video and performance, emphasise the diversity of the funded positions, which can be attributed thematically to the fields of post-minimalism, conceptual art, gender and identity and individual mythology, among others. One focal point is site-specific work, which has been created for the presentation in the ZKM, together with literature, electronic music and composition.
