The Coldest Planet in the Universe: The Human Heart

Violence and Genocide in the Twentieth Century

Fri, June 19 – Sun, August 09, 2015

Location
PanoramaLab
Accompanying the conference »The Tribunal – A Trial Against the Transgressions of the 20th Century«, Peter Weibel’s installation »The Coldest Planet in the Universe: The Human Heart. Violence and Genocide in the Twentieth Century« provides background information on the crimes against humanity before the tribunal.

On the big screen of the ZKM_PanoramaLab, texts and images identify massacres, genocides, civil wars, assassinations, and terrorist attacks. The timeline of these bloody events informs visitors about crimes, both well-known and forgotten and ignored, providing food for thought about how politics and society have handled the aftermath of these events.

Caution!

Some parts of the installation show extreme images of violence and crime that may be disturbing to some of the viewers. These contents are not suitable for children, young people and sensitive viewers.
