- Description
- In her »Iceland Project,« Magdalena Jetelovà turns our attention to the mid-ocean ridge that divides Iceland into two parts and separates America from Europe. The American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which were torn apart millions of years ago, continue to shift. It is estimated that the two land masses are moving apart at a rate of 2.5 centimetres per year. The geological boundary between the continents can be seen in Iceland over a length of around 350 kilometres as a mountain range. Magdalena Jetelovà visualises this line with the help of laser light.
