Quantum Leaps XI

The Festival presents the conclusion of the current fellowships at the Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie Frankfurt. In addition to compositions by the graduates, the concert will also present influential compositions by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Arnold Schönberg, Pierre Boulez, and Luigi Nono. Performative highlight is the theatrical evening “Pierrot lumière,” which is based on Arnold Schönberg’s “Pierrot Lunaire op. 21.” The work takes up the subject of Pierrot in his various historical and social manifestations, reflects on them, and re-interrogates them through music and staging.
