Brian O‘Doherty
Biography
Patrick Ireland (Brian O'Doherty) has shown his work widely in Europe and the United States. An ex-medical doctor, he was closely involved with the beginnings of the conceptual movement in New York in 1966/7. Between 1966 and 1975 he produced conceptual and performance works. At present he is best known for his installations. His work has been seen in numerous one-person exhibitions and in such group exhibitions as Rosc, Documenta and the Venice Bienale.
