"Well I’ve often seen a cat without a grin, but a grin without a cat! It’s the most curious thing I ever saw in alt my life." – Bewilderment similar to that experienced by Alice in Wonderland is likely to be roused by the CD-ROM »Small Fish«. Expecting to and musicians, instruments, and a score noting a composer’s ideas, players slide the silver disk into their computer and discover the world has turned upside-down. The music is not played on instruments but on Masaki Fujiyama’s specially designed score that changes as the game progresses. Since Kiyoshi Furukawa has specified merely timbres and their potential linkage, the pleasure of composition is reserved for the players.
