Through the Darkest of Times

»Through the Darkest of Times« gives the player the command of an resistance group and fight the Nazi regime.

The story of »Through the Darkest of Times« begins with the Nazis' seizure of control on January 30, 1933. In this historical game, the players fight as a resistance group in Berlin with various activities against the Nazi regime, trying to operate and survive undetected for as long as possible.  The gameplay is similar to a turn-based strategy game, in which the skills and resources of the resistance group are assigned to different objectives. With every new game start all characters and their background story are generated afresh. This makes each run unique in its narrative.

»Through the Darkest of Times« is the first computer game permitted in Germany to use anti-constitutional symbols with regard to artistic freedom. The game has been nominated for the »German Computer Games Award« 2020 in the category »Best German Game«.
